Traffic speed is a current issue in France, characterised by a strong policy of control, penalty and communication. It is also an international concern, as demonstrated by the work done by Certu’s Head of Transport Jacques Nouvier, which culminated in the CCRT report on traffic speed management published in February 2007.

This report draws on elements presented at the conference organised by CERTU and INRETS (The National Institute for Transport and Safety Research) on February 2nd 2007 in Lille.
Its primary focus consists of current knowledge and its practical application, with particular reference to the cases of Lille and London.
