Description

From 28 to 30 September 2016, a Franco-German seminar on urban resilience and crisis management was held in Lyon. This seminar brought together scientists, experts and public policy practitioners from France and Germany to tackle in an interdisciplinary and collective way the complex situations that generate or result from crises, the very many fields that need to be invested in to improve resilience, the integration of populations with challenges to be met, and the use of new technologies. Very practical questions were then dealt with, such as how to form a network by weaving a kind of web between French and German organisations Among the ideas that have emerged are the need to develop cross-sectoral approaches, the need to be attentive to cross-border issues, the mobilisation of new technologies, the issue of critical infrastructure and the value of rethinking security, taking new energies into account. The Lyon seminar opens up a major project for developing the prevention of urban crises by sharing knowledge and experience between the two European countries.
